Streamer Cater Efe Fakes TVC Identity at Police Stop.
A viral clip from a recent live stream by popular content creator caterefe has raised fresh concerns about impersonation and the misuse of press credentials during what appears to be a routine police checkpoint. Caterefe was live-streaming, and then he identified himself as being from TVC News in an attempt to bypass stop and search procedures, effectively impersonating a press team.
TVC News retaliates by publicly stating that they intend to sue the streamer for false claims and impersonation, clarifying that he has no official affiliation with the station.
Following the backlash and legal threats, reports and videos indicate that Carter Efe has since issued an apology to the media organization.
Just months prior, in late 2025, Carter Efe had set a record for the most-watched Twitch livestream in Africa during a broadcast with Dsituation, and now Carter Efe lost access to his Twitch account (which had over 400,000 followers) and his Instagram and TikTok accounts.
The removals are largely attributed to mass-reporting by fans of the musician Wizkid (known as Wizkid FC) after Carter Efe allegedly insulted the singer during a livestream.
