Burna Boy and DJ Tunes Reportedly Involved In Heated Altercation.
A reported altercation involving Afrobeats star Burna Boy and renowned disc jockey DJ Tunez (Wizkid's official DJ) has stirred reactions across social media following an incident said to have occurred on the night of April 6, 2026.
According to eyewitness accounts, the clash reportedly took place at the residence of Obi, a popular weekly Afrobeats party held at Shirk in Lagos. A known associate within entertainment circles, where a lot of entertainers were present alongside a number of guests. According to reports and viral social media clips, the confrontation escalated from an argument into a physical altercation, with tensions rising between the two music figures.
The fallout from the nightclub altercation between Grammy-winner Burna Boy and DJ Tunez has taken a sharp turn. Following Burna Boy’s claim that he "only slapped" the DJ, Michael Babatunde Adeyinka (DJ Tunez) has fired back with a counterclaim and a challenge to a physical hit.
In a statement that has sent shockwaves, Dj Tunez alleged that the confrontation wasn't one-sided. He claimed that Burna Boy did not leave the scene unhurt, stating the singer "left with a broken jaw and blood coming from his mouth."
Note: At the time of this report, the claim regarding Burna Boy’s injury has not been independently verified.
Directly addressing Burna Boy’s public swagger, DJ Tunez dismissed the singer’s influence, labeling him "a weak man." He suggested that the "Odogwu" does not match the reality of their physical encounter.
Tunez has now moved to take the feud into a controlled ring fight. Challenging Burna Boy’s confidence, he stated:
“If Burna Boy thinks he is not weak, he should step into a boxing ring. Let’s settle it properly.”
He insisted that if Burna Boy maintains any level of confidence in his physical strength, a formal boxing match is the only way to resolve the matter.
Due to this incident, the Nigeria Disc Jockey Association of Nigeria (DJAN) has called for the ban of Burna Boy's songs (African Giant) from being played in clubs. DJAN is fully against discrimination. In a tweet on X, the association said that Burna Boy is temporarily cancelled from their playlist till further notice.
Efforts to reach representatives of both parties for comments were unsuccessful, and it remains uncertain whether any legal action or further developments will follow the incident. Meanwhile, fans have taken to various platforms to express mixed reactions, with some calling for calm and others demanding clarity on what transpired.
The incident adds to growing conversations about conflicts within the entertainment industry, as observers continue to await verified details and possible responses from those involved.
